Summary
The conference about modern noninvasive screening of fetal aneuploidy in pregnant women has been successfully finished. We enjoyed this meeting and thank both the participants and speakers. According to the feedback of the participants they are also very pleased with the event.
 
Over 70 medical specialists were registered for the conference as participants from several Georgian cities. The main focus of the conference was on noninvasive prenatal testing for aneuploidies using high throughput sequencing, specifically about Ionatest – the only CE IVD NIPT test now available in Georgia.

Introduction

Noninvasive prenatal testing using only blood of the pregnant women is a new and very precise method to detect the main chromosome pathologies and sex of the fetus early in pregnancy. It's popularity is rapidly growing worldwide. It provides many benefits for doctors and their patients. At the conference "Noninvasive prenatal screening 2019" you will know about the technology and results of its implementation in clinical practice. We'll also demonstrate you that this wonderful possibility is now available and affordable in Georgia.

Invited speakers

Stephen Little, PhD

Stephen is a successful serial biotechnology entrepreneur. He is the former CEO of DxS, an innovator in the field of personalised medicine, developing and manufacturing companion diagnostics. DxS pioneered the use of molecular diagnostic tests such as KRAS and EGFR mutation analysis to predict the use of novel cancer therapies. In 2009 Stephen became Vice President of Personalised Healthcare, responsible for developing companion diagnostic partnerships with the pharma industry. Prior to his leading role at DxS, Stephen worked for 20 years in various senior positions in the diagnostic divisions of Astra Zeneca and ICI. He holds a PhD from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
